Ingredients

    • 4 lbs beef (Chuck Roast is best)
    • 1 can chile peppers (Green)
    • 1 tbsp mince garlic
    • Seasonings: 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp salt, 2 tbsp chili powder and 1 tsp oregano

Prepare Beforehand

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

 

Recipe

Slap the Roast on foil over a roasting tin or pan.
 
In another bowl we take the chilis, the seasonings and mince garlic and mix them. Mix contents and lather the roast.
 
Now we wrap the roast in foil so that it is encased. We want it like this ensure that the interior cooks correctly.
 
Toss the roast in the oven and leave it for 3-4 hours. We definitely want to check on it every 45-60 minutes. When checking on it you are welcome to drizzle a little more oil on it OUT of the oven or even take some of the juice and the bottom and baste it on to the top.
 
After three hours it should start to fall apart just from a utensils touch. Remove the roast and start to shred it with utensils once cooled a little bit.
 
The carnitas are a great use in birria tacos, burritos, quesadillas or even a side to the main course.
 
I know this recipe is simple but it’s just a roast and there isn’t much more to it honestly!
