Ingredients
- 2 Containers of Silk Greek Yogurt
- 1 Tbsp Butter
- 2 Tbsp Lemon Juice
- 4 Cups Frozen Strawberries
- 1/3 Cup Sugar
Recipe
First we want a berry sauce. In a small sauce pan throw in the strawberries, water, sugar and lemon juice on high heat.
After it starts to bubble and boil lower the heat to a nice medium maybe even low. Keep this temp for 15 minutes and really let this mix and simmer. Seven minutes in we can mix in the butter and continue stirring thoroughly.
Place Greek yogurt in a bowl and top it with the sauce.
I know we want to throw granola on this recipe but a majority of it is way to carby for keto. There are certain brands that are keto friendly but for the most part the heart of this recipe is plain and simply the yogurt and strawberry sauce.
Do Dairy and Keto Mix?
The compatibility of dairy with the ketogenic diet is a topic that often sparks debate within the health and nutrition community. While it’s true that some dairy products can contribute to carb intake, it’s essential to recognize that not all dairy is created equal. High-fat dairy, such as full-fat cheese, butter, and cream, aligns well with the keto principles, providing valuable sources of healthy fats without the excess carbohydrates.
Individual tolerance to dairy varies, and some people may experience sensitivities or allergies that lead to inflammation or digestive issues. Therefore, the decision to include or exclude dairy from a keto diet should be personalized based on one’s body response. Careful consideration of product choices, opting for high-quality and minimally processed dairy, can allow individuals to enjoy the benefits of dairy within the bounds of a ketogenic lifestyle. Ultimately, the key is informed decision-making and paying attention to the body’s unique responses when navigating the relationship between dairy and keto.
