Ingredients

    • 1 1/2 lb ground turkey
    • 1/2 white onion
    • 2 cups water
    • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
    • 1 egg
    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • 4 tsp corn starch
    • 4 tsp white vinegar or apple cider vinegar
    • 1 tsp soy sauce
  •

Prepare Beforehand

To prepare we will dice the onion. That’s all!

Recipe

Put the ground turkey in a large bowl with the egg, bread crumbs and onion. Mix thoroughly and form into balls.

Consistency is key here! Different sized balls with not be done cooking at the same time as others. We don’t want that.

We are looking for a crunchy outside with a soft inside. To get that we need to pan sear them.

Heat a pan on medium high heat with oil. Toss the meatballs in batches.

It’s super important to do the meatballs in batches because they will cook unevenly when clumped all together. Flip and brown them on 2-3 side of the meatball.

For the sauce I recommend making the sauce, but I wont hate if you store buy some Panda Express Sweet N Sour sauce.

NO! We are not adding ketchup. A lot of sauce recipes call for ketchup, not here. Don’t add any please.

Side Note: Your sauce is NOT going to be red, that is ok. Since there is not ketchup it is supposed to look white.

Back to the sauce, turn the heat to medium high and wisk in sugar, corn starch, vinegar and soy sauce.

Stir constantly for 5 minutes until everything is thoroughly combined and heated.

Combine sauce with meatballs and cover the pan. Simmer this for 15 minutes so the inside can cook.

Let cool and serve with your entree!
